Pediatric Chiropractic

Did you know that babies and children can benefit from chiropractic care too?

Adjusting a child or newborn is very different than adjusting an adult patient. We use very gentle pressure to remove stress from the child’s body. This is equivalent to the pressure used to blanch a fingernail.

“As the twig is bent, so grows the tree” Alexander Pope

On average a child falls 700 times before the age of two. Gentle chiropractic care helps put the child’s spine back into alignment, loosens muscles, and decreases your child’s stress. Parents typically report the child sleeps better, has less ear infections and colic, and less body pains associated with growing when under chiropractic care.

How often should my child be checked?

It is common that a pediatric patient have care for symptoms of colic, torticollis, during a cold, ear infections, problems turning the head during nursing, or any other pains. If the child is symptom free then they should be checked after any big falls, and after developmental milestones such as birth, sitting, crawling, and walking. If you have any other questions about whether your child should be checked feel free to give the office a call.
